The Manila Sharks and the Cebu Dolphins aim to make it 2-0 against separate rivals as the Baseball Philippines Pilot Series resumes Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
The Sharks will meet the Makati Mariners at 9AM while the Dolphins take on Visayas counterpart and debuting Negros Roosters in an afternoon game at 1PM.
Manila pulled an opening day victory Sunday afternoon by winning 8-3 over Laguna after a combined five run third and fourth inning showing.
Makati, on the other hand, looks to recover from a disappointing 8-0 shutout against Cebu in the league’s first-ever game. However, with the core of their players participated for UST in the PABA Youth tournament, it would be interesting to see how will they respond in their early match.
Cebu got a strong outing last weekend from Joseph Orilliana, who posted a complete-game, two hit shutout for the Dolphins. However, Orilliana (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is not expected to start for the Dolphins tomorrow as it might be an opportunity for fellow national team member Darwin Dela Calsada to go in the mound.
Negros, meanwhile, debuts in the tournament, a team composed mostly of players from the Philippine Air Force.
